That Dam Hill was the brainchild of an amazing ultra-marathoner, Dave Carver.

Dave had a huge number of ultra-marathoning credits to his name, including completing the Badwater 135 in 32:10:31 and finishing the Iron Horse 50 Miler in 6:52:04.

He was named the 2012 Male Athlete of the Year by the Association of Canadian Ultramarathoners.

A complete list of ultra-marathoning accomplishments is listed here.

That Dam Hill was one of Dave’s ways of giving back to the sport he loved so much.  He passed away suddenly in a tragic accident in 2019 — but his long distance running memory lives on in That Dam Hill.
